dANCE School Policy/Terms and conditions

DANCE FEES

• Please take note of the following information:

• Group classes start from £6 per lesson.

• Private lessons start from £20 per lesson.

• Please note that there may be some costs associated with performance groups, props, and costumes. You will receive email notifications regarding any associated costs.

LATE PAYMENT

• Invoices are sent out at the end of each month, and we kindly ask for all payments to be made on the date stated on the invoice. If you are unable to make the payment on the stated date, please inform us in advance. We accept cash or bank transfer.

GIVING NOTICE

• As there are limited spaces in some of our dance classes. If you decide not to attend the class, kindly let us know as soon as possible, so that we can offer the space to another individual on our waiting list.

• If you/your child decides to leave during the mid month, no monies will be refunded.

HOLIDAY

• If you/your child is on holiday or unable to attend the lesson, full payment for the month's lessons must still be made. No deductions will be made from the invoice for non-attendance.

• Cancellation of classes: Should Can Dance, Will Dance need to cancel a class, prior notice will be given and a replacement lesson will be rescheduled. If this is not possible a full refund will be given.

CLASS RULES

• We ask all parents/carers/dancers to please respect the location in which your dance classes are taking place.

• Comfortable clothing to be worn (leggings, t-shirt, shorts). The CAN DANCE, WILL DANCE t-shirts/hoodies can be purchased, from £10.

• Hair tied back, off the face

• To show respect to the class teachers and support helpers

• Arrive at least 5 minutes before the start of lesson

• Bring a drink (No fizzy drinks & no food must be brought into studio)

• Due to safety and numbers, parents/carers are not allowed to stay inside the dance hall to watch their child(s). We appreciate the younger child may need a parent to help settle in. There is a seated waiting area.

• Footwear must be worn: Modern dance shoes, trainers, or pumps.

• Sunday theatre class: Modern dance shoes must be worn. Your dance teacher, Charlotte, will send the details for the correct dance shoes required for this class.

• NOT ALLOWED

• Socks only

• Shoes (School Shoes)

• Jewellery

• Additional hair pieces

• No toys are to be brought into the dance hall. These can be a distraction for the children.

• No food is allowed during the dance lesson. If food is brought into the building to eat before or after the class, this must be eaten outside of the dance hall space. Due to allergies no food containing ‘nuts’ is allowed.

• We ask all dancers to bring a ‘named’ resealable drinks bottle.

• Please ensure bags and other personal belongings are away from doors, exits and the floor to prevent any injuries.

DANCE CLASS PLACEMENT AND PROGRESSION POLICY

• We offer a range of dance classes at different levels. If we believe that a student's dance abilities are better suited for a lower or higher level of dance, we will communicate with the parents/guardians to discuss the best course of action for the student. 

REGISTRATION FORM

• A registration form must be completed on joining Can Dance, Will Dance

• The registration form will be send via email (pdf). This can be printed out/emailed back to the dance school once completed. 

• Your contact information will be stored inside a locked file and only I, Charlotte (Dance teacher), will have access.

• If you/your child no longer wishes to attend the dance school, all details will be destroyed. 

• We treat your privacy very seriously and will never share your information. ONLY in the case of a medical emergency, a dancer’s medical form maybe handed over to a paramedic or a doctor, to clarify any medical, illness or previous injury.

• It is the parent’s/individual (those attending adult classes), responsibility to ensure we have the correct contact details in case of an emergency. If any details change, the dance school must be made aware of this as soon as possible so the information can be updated.

CHILD PROTECTION

• Charlotte (Dance Teacher) is certified: (Advanced DBS) Checked, has public liability insurance, is First Aid trained and certified in Safe Guarding.

• Can Dance, Will Dance follows strict rules and regulations concerning the welfare of students. No child under the age of 18 years will be allowed to leave the premises unattended by an adult, unless we receive written confirmation from parent/guardian.

• Toilet runs: Teachers will wait outside the area to ensure the student arrives safely back to class.

• Due to the physical nature of dance, contact may be necessary to correct and encourage alignments, help develop good technique, and prevent injury. All students will be given information about what needs to be achieved, and hands-on correction will be given if necessary and with the permission of the student.

• Social Media: Can Dance, Will Dance has a strict policy regarding social media. No images, videos, or posts will be shared on our social media platforms without written consent from parents. Performance groups: As your child is part of a group that will be performing in public spaces and on stage, we kindly ask each parent to complete a consent form. Images and videos of the performance will be shared on our Facebook page. Names are never used on social media, unless we have made contact and asked permission.
